11 Video Game Wines I'd Like to Drink

Silly topic to write about, but I figured that I hadn’t made a blog post in a while, so here we go!

These are the top 11 video game wines I’d like to drink.

  1. Dead Island 2 Mount Tam Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc California 2010

Dead Island 2 is a zombie game set in Los Angeles. I spotted this Mount Tam Vineyards 2010 California Sauvignon Blanc on a table in one of the villas. It looked refreshing, but it didn’t have any details about being estate-grown or single-vineyard. I think it was sourced from all over California. In this apocalyptic game scenario, it looked pretty crisp, and I would drink it.

Interesting and morbid fact: This game begins with a plane crash after discovering an infected person on board. After googling the name of this winery, Mount Tam, I found an article about a plane that crashed into the south face of Mount Tamalpais in Mill Valley, California.

  1. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Reserva de Familia Malbec

Located outside of a hotel on a table. I was trying not to appear like I was camping while taking this photo. It looks like a solid Malbec, and I would give it a shot. There is wine in other parts of the game in maps like Greece, Paris, and the Breenbergh Hotel.

I haven’t taken the time to snap a screenshot of all of them, but I noticed most of them are Malbec or Chardonnay.

  1. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - Premier Reserva

This game is hilarious. It is basically 500 games packed into one. There were wines by the glass in a few of the restaurants—not a lot of details about the wine listed, but I decided to include this Premier Reserva on the list. If even the most solemn sommelier is smacking their lips, I must taste it.

  1. Sims - Nectar Making Wine

I used to love The Sims, but I haven’t played in a while. I was told that The Sims has some great fake wine grape names: Gralladina Fran, Cranerlet, Cherimola Blan, Avornalino, and Meloire. Apparently, in The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, there is “nectar making,” and wow, these screenshots look great.

Foot stomped, small production, co-ferments, and more. There are long nectar-making threads, and it was quite interesting.
Read more about it in this write-up by The Gamer and Carl’s The Sims 3 Guide
You can even age the nectar
Lightly Aged - Two Sim Days
Moderately Aged - Five Sim Days
Finely Aged - Seven To Eight Sim Days
Wonderfully complex.

  1. Elder Scrolls Skyrim - Firebrand Wine

Need to drink this wine in the Blue Palace of Solitude. It appears that it a bit high in alcohol, but I if it’s good enough for Jarl Elisif the Fair, it’s good enough for me.

  1. Hundred Days - My Barbera D’Nasty” Piemonte 2026

Hundred Days is a whole game about winemaking. Available on Steam and made by Broken Arm Games, this is the most detailed game about wine that I have ever seen. Warning: this game is not chill, and it is difficult. Maybe with winemaking experience, it would be a bit easier? The best I could do was make some Barbera D’Nasty. It only received 80 points from the critics. Apparently, it needs more body. Well, I don’t make wine for the critics! It is ART.

  1. The Witcher 3 Old Wine from Toussaint

A wine needed to complete a quest called it “It takes three to tango"
Where can it be found?
In a local shop of course.
The merchant in Gildorf district's shop in Novigrad
Also I think it’s funny that they made a Witcher wine IRL
Check it out - The Witcher Wine by Chateau Marrin
From their website, “The Witcher® Grand Cru, official wine of the game The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt, was born from our hours spent at the Corvo Bianco estate. As winegrowers and great admirers of the game, we wanted to continue the last adventures of Geralt of Rivia in Toussaint.”

  1. Stardew Valley Starfruit Wine

I would drink some Stardew Valley Starfruit wine, but only if it was Iridium Quality. Apparently you can make a lot of gold selling these wines in the game.

In the game you can builds casks, kegs, and age wine. You can own the whole winemaking process from farming in the vineyards to the cellar.

  1. Fallout 4 Montressor Amontillado

McGann, the Minutemen's general, was at the Castle when it fell to a mirelurk queen. In his last terminal entry, McGann describes running out of supplies and losing hope for rescue. Despite knowing it would worsen his dehydration, he chose to face his end with a toast, having discovered an old case of wine. It was Montressor Amontillado. Surprising to see some sherry in a game!

Honorable mention to this Falmouth Winery Merlot
Wondering what a Merlot tastes like in 2060…

  1. Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Straw Basket Chianti

The end is never the end is never the end. By independent studio Crows Crows Crows this is one of my favorite games. I was astonished to find not one but three straw basket Chiantis in the Boss’s office. I love a chonky, basket bottle. I wonder if there is a bucket anywhere I can use to chill it a bit…

  1. Resident Evil Village - Regina Rosie Crama Barbaneagra

This game had some of the most detailed wine bottles and rooms that I had ever seen in a game. The wine Regina Rosie Crama Barbaneagra sounds like a beautiful wine that tastes like a Barbaresco or something.
Fun fact from DetailsInGaming: “Among the elements of Resident Evil Village scenery are wine bottles branded with Regina Rosie name. The brand is a reference to another video game series developed by Capcom, namely Dino Crisis. Regina was the protagonist, and the “Rosie” part refers to her hair colour”

The backstory of the wine in the game felt well-integrated and was very entertaining:

Hope you enjoyed the list and, “Find someone who will look at you the way Alcina Dimitrescu looks at her Sangius Virgins wine”
